The Plan<\/h2>\n

Operate from Lincoln, White Pine, Eureka, Elko, Lander, Humboldt and Pershing county Nevada as N6RNO. Mostly SSB, possibly some CW. RTTY not likely at all. While Vivian (KI6HFS) has her technician license, she does not contest. She operates only as practice as part of the emergency group at our QTH. She has however supported me in my efforts to operate in various contests. Especially for these QSO parties where I need to scout new locations. We like to drive a lot and these scouting missions give us a chance to check out places we have not looked at before.<\/p>\n

April 22\/23 – Scouting<\/h5>\n

Lincoln\/White Pine County line is 53 miles south of Ely. Will operate just on the White Pine side of the line as I can get further off the road. It’s backed dirt here but just a touch further from the power lines. Unfortunately, high winds prevented me from actually checking RF conditions. Also, this site is blocked to the west by tall mountains that are close in. All other directions are very open.<\/p>\n
